Bruce Springsteen has finally given details about his new album 'We shall overcome: The seeger Sessions' which is set to be release on April 24th.
The celebrity's 21st album will contain 13 traditional songs collaborated with the singer Pete Seeger.

The album includes a DVD with recordings behind the scenes, two bonus tracks and a booklet with a note from the singer Bruce Springsteen. It seems like the celebrity's trying to get closer to his fans.

So much of my writing, particularly when I write acoustically, comes straight out of the folk tradition. Making this album was creatively liberating because I have a love of all those different roots sounds... they can conjure up a world with just a few notes and a few words.

Napster has problems with Microsoft

At the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York, Napster CEO Chris Gorog blamed Microsoft for their failure considering that problems with Microsoft Windows Media technologies and Microsoft's device partners have hampered companies trying to compete with Apple's iTunes Music Store and iPod music players.

It seems like Napster's market capitalization is about $US160 million ($214 million), but it has cash assets of about $US112 million, becoming a company with small enterprise value. Napster's third-quarter net loss widened to $US17 million for the three months to December 31, from a loss of $US12.8 million a year earlier.

There is no question that their execution has been less than brilliant over the last 12 months. [...] It's a lot more complex to get organized properly than it is to build one device and one service as Apple has done.

I’m going to try and do an album after the movie. I want to put the album out in the summer, which means I have six weeks to record it after the movie (is completed). But I’ve done that with just about every album, so we’ll see if it happens again.

Amazon to launch its own Internet music service

Amazon.com, the world's largest online retailer, wants to launch its own digital music service which will surely compete with Apple's industry-leading iTunes store.
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Amazon is planning Amazon-branded music players and a music download subscription service, with own proprietary players, which might be available as early as this summer. This is not the only plan that Amazon.com has. In November, Amazon announced Amazon Pages, a service that will allow shoppers to buy digital copies of book pages, chapters or entire reads.

After a break for about a year-and-a-half during which pop celebrity married Kevin Federline and gave birth to Sean Preston the pop princess Britney Spears is planning to return on stage and is already recording an album which might be release later this year. It's not going to be easy considering her present weight. Of course she needs a long diet but will Britney Spears have the same success with her new project?

The celebrity mom also told People that she doesn't take her son Preston outside very often because of the paparazzi who can not seem to let her breathe and enjoy her motherhood.

30 million songs sold by Apple through iTunes in only ten days. The progress is moving so fast that the company is selling three million songs each day. Apple iTunes seems set to reach its billion song target within the week.

For this to happen Apple is also offering prizes: every person buying a 100,000th song gets a black 4GB iPod nano and a $100 iTunes Music Card. The person who downloads the billionth song from the iTunes Music Store will receive a 20-inch iMac, a $10,000 iTunes Music Card, and ten 60GB iPods. Apple will also launch a full scholarship in the winner's name at a world-renowned music school.

Beyonce Check On It topped four weeks Billboard Chart

Beyoncé's 'Check On It' featuring Slim Thug tops Billboard Hot 100 and Pop 100 singles charts four weeks consecutive. On the second place stands James Blunt with his single "You're beautiful".

The single Check on it is part of the 'Pink Panther's soundtrack. Released on 7 February 2006, Beyonce comes with new provocative moves and once again she surprise us with her new movie which shows us the good acting skills of Beyonce. R&B celebrity Beyonce proved that she's still capable to rule the 'music scene' and 'movie stage'. In the movie, Beyoncé plays a pop star named Xania next to Steve Martin who plays the role of detective Inspector Clouseau.

Daddy Yankee tops Billboard Latin Nominees

Billboard announced Thursday that Daddy Yankee, one of the biggest reggaeton stars, is on top of the list of finalists for 2006 Billboard Latin Awards with 10 nominations for Hot Latin Songs Artist, Songwriter of the Year, Artist of the Year etc. Daddy Yankee's album Barrio fino en directo, released on December 2005, is also nominate for Reggaeton Album of the Year. On the second place stands the young Mexican group RBD with nine nominations. Their albums released in 2005 on EMI/Televisa are finalists in the duo or group category of the Latin pop albums field.

The awards ceremony takes place on April 27th at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach in Miami and will be telecast live on Spanish-language network Telemundo.

Honestly, I accidentally listened RBD and I wasn't expecting to so many nominations for them. I cannot say the same thing for Daddy Yankee or for any Latin celebrities such as: Shakira who also got eight nominations or reggaeton stars Wisin & Yandel who have seven Billboard Latin nominations.
